Foam Spray Roof Insulation

One of the simplest and most common methods of reducing energy costs is loft and cavity wall insulation. By insulating your home, you reduce the amount of heat escaping via the roof and walls, which in turn reduces the amount of energy used to heat the house. A well insulated loft alone can dramatically cut your heating bill, in some cases by up to 40%. Traditionally, lofts have been insulated with thick, wool mats, but using a sprayed polyurethane foam has a huge number of benefits.

Insulating with Spray Foam

As opposed to wool mats laid on the floor, insulating spray foam is sprayed onto the roof itself. Polyurethane is a much more efficient insulator than ceramic fibres, and only a thin layer is needed to achieve the same effect as a wool mat, freeing up as much as a foot of headspace in your loft.

It has a waterproofing effect, making it an ideal choice if you have leaking roof areas. It also prevents the potentially dangerous slipping of slates or tiles, strengthening your roof, and making it resistant to gale force winds.
